[ My Role ]

The project had separate teams in both China and Japan, I was the project manager in China. My role involved coordinating with the Japan team to ensure smooth collaboration across regions. I was responsible for leading the Chinese team, overseeing content planning, scriptwriting, and live execution of the anniversary concert (held at the Tokyo studio). In addition, I managed the schedule and coordinated the internationl team for other anniversary activities.

[ Description ]

ReVdol! is a virtual idol project that combines animation, live streaming, music, short videos, and interactive applications. Targeting primarily young audiences in China and Japan, the project emphasizes real-time interaction with fans and the sense of companionship in nurturing virtual idols. By leveraging Unity's real-time rendering pipeline and motion capture technology, the production cycle for videos and promotional images is significantly reduced compared to traditional animation methods. Additionally, live streaming allows fans to experience the vibrant personalities and charm of the virtual characters.

The first anniversary concert marked the project's first major live performance event to an audience of 200 people, using AR technology to bring the virtual idols to life on a real-world stage. While the concert venue was located in Shanghai, China, the production studio was based in Tokyo, Japan. We deployed rendering terminals at the venue to transmit motion data, which was then converted and projected onto the stage in real time.
